IHRC Students Prepare a Report for the UN SR on Freedom of Religion on Restrictions Imposed by the DHS on Clergy Access to ICE Detention Facilities (May 2026)

In 2026, Ninveh Mansour (Class of 2026) and Jaeyoung Jin (Class of 2026), students of the International Human Rights Center, drafted a report for the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief addressing restrictions imposed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on clergy access to ICE detention facilities, which prevents detainees of diverse faiths from receiving spiritual care. The report was prepared in collaboration with Jesuit partners in the Chicago area who are actively engaged in litigation challenging these restrictions.
