IHRC Students Submit to UN CEDAW on Argentina Regarding the Dismantlement of the Ministry of Women, Genders, and Diversity (January 2026)

In January 2026, Fransheska Companioni-Daroch (JD 2026) and Kali Mashayekhi (JD 2027), two of the students of the International Human Rights Center, submitted a parallel report on Argentina to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

The report called the Committee’s attention to the dismantlement of Argentina’s Ministry of Women, Genders, and Diversity and its substantial effects on femicide awareness, as well as the deliberate underfunding of gender-based violence support policies and programs as violations of CEDAW articles 2 and 3. The report also highlighted concerns about the expressed threats from Argentina's administration to continue non-compliance with legally mandated gender-based policies. You can read the report here.
