The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) has named Professor Nadine Tan one of nine winners of its 2026 Best Under 40 Award. Tan teaches Legal Research and Writing and Ethical Lawyering, and leads the Academic Success Program.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, Tan received the David P. Leonard Memorial Faculty Service Award for outstanding teaching and service to the law school. Before joining Loyola, she practiced litigation, taught legal ethics at USC Gould School of Law, and served as Associate Counsel at Green Dot Public Schools. Tan previously served as President of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association, the first Asian Pacific American bar association in the country.
The Best Under 40 Award celebrates NAPABA members who are exceptional individuals under the age of 40 and who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields, including the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics.
Colin Kawaguchi ’11 (Nevers, Palazzo, Packard, Wildermuth & Wynner, PC) also made the list.
