The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) has named Associate Professor Nadine Tan one of nine winners of its 2026 Best Under 40 Award. Tan teaches Legal Research and Writing and Ethical Lawyering, and leads the Academic Success Program.
The Best Under 40 Award celebrates exceptional NAPABA members under 40 who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields, including the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics. Colin Kawaguchi ’11 (Nevers, Palazzo, Packard, Wildermuth & Wynner, PC) also made the list.
Tan is the recipient of a range of other accolades. For the 2025-26 academic year, Tan received the David P. Leonard Memorial Faculty Service Award for outstanding teaching and service to the law school. Tan previously served as president of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association, the first Asian Pacific American bar association in the country. Before joining Loyola, she practiced litigation, taught legal ethics at USC Gould School of Law, and served as associate counsel at Green Dot Public Schools.
