Human Trafficking Public Policy Practicum

LLS Students enrolled in the Anti-Trafficking Law and Policy Practicum participate in a year-long program consisting of seminar class in the Fall Semester, followed by fieldwork in the Spring supporting SJI staff’s existing policy work . This integrated approach ensures that students gain theoretical knowledge and develop practical advocacy skills by working on real-world on-going policy initiatives that focus on legislation, budget, and agency implementation. Learn more about SJI on-going policy initiatives here. Students who take the voluntary field-placement credit in fall will have the opportunity to work directly with a human trafficking survivor leader/lived expert to develop Anti-Trafficking policy based on engagement with a lived expert who has applied to be supported by SJI on their chosen policy initiative.
