Printing in the Computer Lab

Loyola Law School has incorporated the PaperCut system for student printing, scanning and copying documents. The printers are located in the computer lab on the 2nd floor of the Rains Library.

The printing, scanning (HP machine) and copying (HP machine) functions are accessible using your LLS username and password.

Printing

  • From the Computer Lab Workstations
    • PaperCut Login Box will appear requiring you to enter your LLS username and password. you will have a window of 45 minutes in which to start a print job before the system logs you out from printing. If a print job is already in motion it will continue past the 45 minutes limit. You may then re-login for an additional 45 minutes printing window of time. This is to insure that if you leave the workstation and forget to restart it, that your printing allocation is not abused by another. Once you are logged in, PaperCut will show you in a pop-up window your current BALANCE. If the balance window is not visible, click the icon in your system tray in the lower right side of your desktop.

Printing & Copying Limits (Scanning is Free)

Loyola Law School students are allocated a virtual amount of $300 for Printing and Copying per year to be used on the Library Computer Lab printers. The allocation is the same for both day and evening students.   Once a year, on August 1, $300 is credited to each student's PaperCut account. (At $0.10 per page that amount will allow printing of 3000 black & white pages.)  All print and copying jobs on the student's PaperCut login are charged to this account. Color printing / copying is also available at $0.30 per page using the Computer Lab Color Printer.

This cost will help defray the expense of toner, printers, printer maintenance, paper and supplies. Students are responsible for their printing account and should monitor use and report any discrepancies to the Library Computer Lab staff.

Account Balance

Each time you login, a window will pop up with your current printing account balance. If this balance does not appear or appears as $0.00 contact the Library Computer Lab Help Desk to have you account corrected.

It is your responsibility to add money to your account before you run out. If your account balance goes to $0.00 you will not be able to print until you add money to your account. If there is insufficient balance to print your entire print job, none of it will be printed.

Adding Money To Your PaperCut Account
