‌Background

Nadine Tan teaches Legal Research & Writing and Ethical Lawyering and is an advisor in the law school’s Academic Success Program. In 2026, Loyola’s St. Thomas More Law Honor Society awarded Professor Tan with the David P. Leonard Memorial Faculty Service Award.

She began her career as a law clerk to the Honorable S. James Otero (Ret.) of the United States District Court for the Central District of California before practicing litigation at Parker, Milliken, Clark, O’Hara & Samuelian APC. She taught legal ethics as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, the USC Gould School of Law, and was Associate Counsel at Green Dot Public Schools, a nonprofit network of public charter schools.

Professor Tan previously served as the President of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA), the oldest Asian Pacific American bar association in the country.
