Loyola Law School offers students in Public Interest work two sources of summer funding: PILF's Summer Funding Program and the Summer Public Interest Employment Program (SPIEP)
- SUMMER PUBLIC INTEREST EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SPIEP): (Public Interest Law Department)
Loyola Law School's federal work-study program supports a number of students working at local nonprofit agencies, government agencies, and courts. Eligible positions can gain up to $3,500 in federal work-study compensation. - PILF SUMMER FUNDING PROGRAM: (Public Interest Law Foundation – Student Organization)
The PILF Summer Funding Program provides students with compensation for their work at a nonprofit or government agency. Eligible positions can gain up to $2,500.
Note: You cannot receive PILF Summer Funding and SPIEP simultaneously for the same hours worked. Thus, you may only receive PILF Summer Funding and SPIEP if your position extends outside the set dates for SPIEP, OR if you will use up all your SPIEP funds before the end of the SPIEP contract period. Deadline
Applications and all supporting documents for both summer funding programs must be received by Monday, April 12, 2027
Applications will open on Monday, March 8, 2026.
