Background
Sasha Minton joined Loyola Law School in the summer of 2025 and is a Reference Librarian. She is excited to join the LMU community, supporting the endeavors of students and faculty. Sasha is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Southern California Association of Law Libraries (SCALL).
After receiving her degree in history at the University of California, Berkeley, Sasha worked for several years at non-profit organizations in California that aimed to monitor and improve the child welfare system. Sasha then received a Child and Family Advocacy Fellowship and a merit scholarship while pursuing her J.D. at Hofstra Law School in New York. She practiced child and family advocacy law in Massachusetts and California, representing parents and children in cases where the government filed allegations of abuse and neglect or representing youth in “Child Requiring Assistance” (CRA) cases, involving truancy, runaway, or “stubborn” child petitions.
Discovering a passion for legal research, Sasha decided to pursue her master’s in library and information science at the University of Arizona, with a specialization in legal information. In her final year of her masters, Sasha worked as a Law Library Fellow at the Cracchiolo Law Library at the University of Arizona as part of the reference team while also pursuing rotations in Access Services, Collections, and Archives.
