Campus Signage Enhancement Project Set to Begin July 10

Crews will begin replacing outdated exterior campus signage on the LMU Loyola Law School (LLS) campus starting July 10, 2026, as part of a previously approved project aligning signage with the university’s visual identity. Originally scheduled to coincide with LMU’s new identity rollout several years ago, the project experienced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent supply-chain disruptions.

The new designs will replace old, fixed signage on the exteriors of the Dordick Family Trial Advocacy Building, parking structure, Burns Building, and Founders Hall. The installation will have minimal impact on campus operations and is expected to be complete by Orientation Week on August 10. Updates providing campus access will be shared if needed.

The new designs address readability, consistency, and durability, and follow similar enhancements and updates made on LMU’s Westchester campus.

Updating signage following visual identity changes is standard best practice among universities, businesses, and other organizations. Current entrance signs have significantly exceeded their expected lifespan (in some cases, by several decades) and require replacement due to wear and deterioration. The changes are consistent with LMU’s established visual identity system, which has developed significant equity and earned recognition from the university’s externally facing visibility campaigns. These updates will improve campus clarity, ease navigation, and enhance the experience of visitors and community members.
