North Hollywood, California - On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, The Coelho Center for Disability Law, Policy and Innovation and Lights! Camera! Access! 2.0 are co-hosting a Disability & Media roundtable at the Television Academy.
Last November, The Coelho Center hosted its Inaugural Symposium with two panels: Technology and Disability; and Media and Disability. As follow-up, on February 20th, The Coelho Center teamed up with LCA2.0 to convene a Disability & Media Roundtable with industry and disability thought leaders. The event is closed door and by invite only. The purpose of the event was to set an agenda for the writing of a white paper that includes our calls-to-action.
After the Coelho/LCA2.0 Roundtable (from 10 am to 12 noon), there will be a networking lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. There will be attendees from both the Roundtable event in the morning and those participating in the LCA2.0 Career Exploration Summit, from 1:00 - 6:00 pm. The Summit is followed by a networking reception from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. The day of activities concludes with Disability Through a Brand New Lens, disability awareness panel in collaboration with the Caucus for Producers Writers & Directors from 7:00 - 8:30.
