From the Classroom to City Hall: SJI Students Advocate for LA28 Human Rights
SJI Student Advocates Amanda Pepe, Alexandria Trejo, and Patricia Gonzalez provided public comment before the Los Angeles City Council’s Ad Hoc Committee on the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They called for clear deadlines for LA28’s Human Rights Plan, greater transparency around human rights funding, and stronger opportunities for community input before key decisions are finalized. Their advocacy reflects SJI’s ongoing work to promote human rights, accountability, and trafficking prevention as Los Angeles prepares for the 2028 Games.
