If you are seeking academic credit for your field placement, then you must apply for units through the Field Placement Department. The Field Placement Department will be accepting applications on 12twenty only.

Step 1: Submit Application

  1. Head to the Experiential Learning tab in the sidebar and create a New Experience (top right corner).
  2. In creating a new experience, please select “Field Placement” as the Experiential Learning Type. This application applies to all field placements (judicial, government, non-profit, and private firm/entity field placements).
  3. As part of the application, students must also identify their placement and supervising attorney. Thus, students should not apply until they have secured a placement.
  4. Concurrent Work: If you plan to work or participate in a clinic in addition to your field placement during the same semester, you are responsible for notifying both entities. As part of your application, you must provide written confirmation from each employer and/or clinic that there are no conflicts of interest if you participate in both during the same semester.  Email your conflict clearances to fieldplacements@lls.edu. Failure to provide written confirmation could result in a denial of your field placement application.
  5. Fill out the application completely, then click Save. You will then have access to the “Documents and Forms” tab.

Step 2: Upload Resume

  1. Submit your resume under “Documents and Forms” with your application.
  2. Once a resume has been uploaded, click on Submit for Approval.

Note: If your application says "Draft," make sure to click Submit for Approval. Students will know their application has been submitted when their status changes to "Pending Initial Approval."

For questions or changes to your application, please email fieldplacements@lls.edu
