SURVIVOR-LED POLICY & ADVOCACY INITIATIVE
Advocate for Change: Turning Ideas into Action
Survivors of human trafficking are powerful agents of change, using their lived experiences to shape the response for those affected by this issue.
At SJI, we are seeking survivors of human trafficking who have innovative ideas for policies that can make a meaningful impact. Our program is designed to help you advocate for your vision of change, offering the opportunity to collaborate with our team and further develop your idea.
How it Works
Each year, SJI selects and funds one survivor leader who has identified a policy problem or has a creative idea for policy change. If selected, you'll have the opportunity to work with us for one year at the start of August, where we'll help you develop, research, and advocate for your policy idea. Our dedicated law students, under our guidance, will support in gathering data, drafting policy proposals, and connecting with key stakeholder to ensure your idea gains traction.
Throughout the year, you will also receive support on advocacy strategies and guidance on how to navigate the legislative process. Our goal is to empower you to become a strong advocate for your vision, ensuring it has the impact it deserves.
