Estefani Hernández
Conciliation and Mediation Advocacy Clinic
Over four semesters in the Conciliation and Mediation Advocacy Clinic — within the Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution (LCCR) — Estefani has made a meaningful and lasting impact through her dedication, skill, and leadership. In her most recent semester, Estefani stood out as the only Spanish-speaking student, providing critical support to Spanish-speaking clients. She completed an impressive number of intakes, many of which resulted in successful conciliated agreements. In one notable case, she assisted a tenant facing financial hardship due to job loss. Through thoughtful communication with the property management company, Estefani helped both parties reach a constructive resolution, enabling the tenant to apply for a rent relief program with the landlord’s cooperation. This outcome reflects her strong problem-solving abilities, empathy, and effectiveness as a conciliator.
Estefani has also been an active participant in community mediation training, participating in role-plays that strengthened both her own skills and those of her peers. Her commitment to growth is evident, and supervising mediators consistently seek opportunities to work with her. Clients frequently praise her professionalism and support. In addition, Estefani has played an important role in LCCR’s outreach and recruitment efforts. As President of the Latinx Law Students Association, she demonstrated exceptional leadership by mentoring peers and fostering an inclusive, collaborative community.
