Cole “Cece” Cartledge

Cole Cartledge (“Cece”) was admitted to the Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic for the 2025-2026 academic year; however, this did not prevent him from getting started on amazing work before the academic year even started. In summer of 2025, Cece enthusiastically volunteered to travel to Guadalajara, Mexico to engage in an educational presentation to the Mexican Senate about the complex changes occurring in immigration law and its impact on Mexican community members in the US. Cece also visited migrant shelters to provide educational presentations and conduct legal consultations under an LIJC attorney’s supervision.
As the semester began, Cece continued to be engaged in the LIJC curriculum through client representation under attorney supervision, and expanded work in collaboration with LIJC’s Binational Migrant Advocacy Project (BMAP) through his involvement in the Binational Border Rights Advocacy Project (in Tijuana, Mexico and San Diego, CA at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church). Cece attended an academic conference at IBERO University, a Mexican university located in Tijuana, collaborating with Mexican law students and visiting shelters in Tijuana where he provided educational presentations and legal consultations under an LIJC attorney supervision to its migrant residents. Cece has continued to travel to Tijuana and Our Lady of Guadalupe on numerous occasions to provide legal consultations to migrants and deportees living in shelters. Whenever a volunteer opportunity arises, Cece enthusiastically volunteers, from welcoming Mexican senators to our Law School Campus to providing direct services in the community.
