Tiffany Dong
Juvenile Innocence and Fair Sentencing Clinic
In her two years as a student in the Juvenile Innocence & Fair Sentencing (JIFS) Clinic, Tiffany Dong has embodied best practices in holistic, post-conviction lawyering. Working on the most challenging cases, Tiffany provided zealous advocacy for her clients, including two complex parole hearings for an incarcerated client, as well as a successful resentencing and ongoing juvenile transfer hearing for a client serving life without the possibility of parole.
As with all students in the JIFS Clinic, Tiffany did not just assist lead counsel; she was lead counsel, handling every aspect of the case from the beginning, writing every brief and making every argument in court. Tiffany’s time in JIFS culminated in being the lead writer for the JIFS Clinic amicus brief in the California Supreme Court case People v. Munoz, working with a team of public interest lawyers and organizations.
In a graduating class of outstanding students, Tiffany nonetheless stood out for the quality of her writing and advocacy — and we are grateful for her work and contributions to JIFS and the clients it serves.
