Pasqualle Yamakawa, Dependency Court Mediation Assistance Clinic

While clerking with the Dependency Court Mediation and Assistance Clinic (DMAC) — part of the Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution (LCCR) — Pasqualle made a meaningful impact by assisting families with reunification efforts following involvement in the foster care system, successfully resolving more than 25 disputes. She also volunteered as a judge for Just the Beginning — a Summer Legal Institute pipeline program for high school students hosted by LCCR  — as part of the negotiation mock trial competition. She also mentored new clinic students; in both cases demonstrating leadership and a strong commitment to service.

Pasqualle exhibited deep sensitivity to the challenges faced by LCCR clients, recognizing that many individuals are in crisis and navigating complex emotional, physical, and financial hardships alongside legal issues. She approached each matter with empathy, professionalism, and care.

We are confident that Pasqualle will make an invaluable member of the legal profession and a proud alumna of Loyola Law School. Congratulations.
