Amelia Moore, Ninth Circuit Appellate

Amelia Moore is the Outstanding Clinical Student in the Ninth Circuit Appellate Clinic thanks to her exceptional legal research, writing, and commitment to her client.  She tackled a complex issue of federal law with remarkable depth, demonstrating an ability to synthesize intricate legal doctrines and craft persuasive arguments.  Amelia remained composed, resolute, and reliable at every stage of the case.  Her contributions to the opening and reply briefs on appeal were so polished and well-reasoned that they appeared indistinguishable from the work of experienced appellate attorneys.  Amelia concluded her Loyola Law School career by presenting oral argument before a panel of judges at the Ninth Circuit’s Pasadena courthouse—an opportunity that many litigators may never experience in their entire career.  Beyond her written and oral advocacy, Amelia was instrumental in promoting the clinic to other students, helping to expand its reach and impact.  Despite balancing responsibilities in the Juvenile Innocence and Fair Sentencing Clinic and the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, Amelia never allowed her workload to compromise the quality of her work.  Her ability to manage multiple high-level commitments while producing outstanding legal work exemplifies the highest standards of clinical practice.
