Jose Gutierrez: Tylmar, CA

Jose Gutierrez was born in Mexico. He came to the United States when he was only nine months of age. He grew up in Los Angeles, California where he graduated from high school and immediately after joined the United States Army. Jose served for eight years in the military and deployed four times. After the military, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business, an MBA, and a Master of Studies in Law.

Jose suffers from Bipolar Disorder PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) he endured while in the military. These disabilities have been a daily struggle for Jose, but he has not let them hold him back from achieving any goals he has set for himself.

Jose’s lifelong dream is to attend a top law school and become a lawyer. Armed with a law degree, he believes he can make a difference in his community and in the lives of many disabled veterans.
