In Memory of David Gyepes '91

Dave Gyepes ’91 passed away on Sunday, May 31st after a battle with cancer that lasted several years. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and daughters Adriana, Grace, and Sarah.

Dave was my friend. We were neighbors, and I coached one of his daughters in soccer. Along with several other neighborhood “dads,” I truly enjoyed spending time with Dave. He got a kick out of the fact that a friend of his was the Dean of his law school. We bonded over watching basketball games, doughnuts, talking politics and wine. Dave was incredibly intelligent without showing it off, interesting in way that brought people together, and above all, kind.  He was proud of his Loyola education. And he was a wonderful husband and father.

I will miss Dave very much, and know his memory will be a blessing.
