Human Trafficking is codified as part of climate change narrative as reflected in locally-led climate resilience, evidence-based research, and tangible legal protections.  

SJI was granted a special accreditation status to attend the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the Appraisal of the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons pursuant to General Assembly Resolution 75/2. SJI provided video testimony on the disparate impact of climate change and trafficking on communities of color in the U.S.
