Yvonne Trice, Survivor Leader.

Yvonne Trice became an advocate for mothers of murdered loved ones after losing her son, Monte Russell, in 2015 to gun violence. She founded A Mother’s Voice, a network for surviving family members from all walks of life to support, listen, and commune with one another to breath again be powerful. This was birthed from her own experience of feeling as though no one heard or understood the emotional and physical toll associated with losing someone to violence. Yvonne works for the Pasadena Health Department and advocated for AB 1949 in Sacramento. Signed in September 2022, the law provides additional protections for employees after the death of a family member. She remains committed to stopping gun violence and provide a voice to families affected by this crime.
