Prof. Kim quoted by L.A. Times on a possible second term for LAPD chief
Professor Kathleen Kim was quoted in a Los Angeles Times story about a possible second term for Charlie Beck as chief of the Los Angeles Police Department. Beck was the focus of controversies in the past; however, after meeting with Mayor Eric Garcetti earlier this year, Beck gained more support from the public.
"Despite some lingering concerns, a majority of the five-person commission — Kathleen Kim, Madison and Soboroff — said they favor giving Beck a second term."
"And Commissioner Kim, a law professor, said Beck's outreach has given her the chance to better understand his stance on immigration issues — an area of particular interest to her — as well as discuss her concerns about the string of troubling incidents in the spring."
