Campus Celebrity Spotting: Katie Couric
Katie Couric, longtime co-host of The Today Show and current host of the daytime talkshow Katie, visited campus for a rare out-of-studio live broadcast of The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Couric and a CBS crew took over the basketball court and the roof of the parking garage on Oct. 30, 2006 for filming of that day's newscast. Couric ended the show with a special on-air thanks to Loyola for its hospitality.
With a wealth of legal expertise and camera-friendly architecture, Loyola's campus has served as a filming location for major news outlets. Other news programs to film on campus include Dateline, 48 Hours, the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, The Today Show and CBC's The National. Loyola's campus is also a frequent stop for Los Angeles-based TV news outlets, including KABC, KNBC, KCBS and KCAL.
