Academic Credit

Loyola and Brooklyn Law Schools will award academic credit for courses successfully completed. Students are required to attend all class sessions and take the final exams. Final exams will be graded by the individual professors.

Loyola Law School students have a choice between: (a) the traditional grading system of the Law School and (b) opting to have grades recorded on a pass/fail basis. Under no circumstance may a student withdraw his/her grading election once classes have begun. Units undertaken on a pass/fail basis through the China Summer Program in Beijing will be applied toward the maximum twenty (20) allowed. For further information on grading and academic standards, please consult the Student Handbook.

Brooklyn Law School students will be officially graded with a Pass/Fail grade on their transcripts. Brooklyn requires a 'D' or better grade for its students to earn credit in
the program. Students will also receive an unofficial transcript with a grade from the Loyola registrar.

Students from schools other than Loyola or Brooklyn should consult their
home institutions regarding the rules on grades and credit for Summer Programs Abroad.
Acceptance of any course credit, or course grade, is subject to the determination of the
student's home school. Students will also receive an unofficial transcript with a grade from the Loyola registrar.
