LA Law Students Win 2nd National Championship in Trial

Angeles -- For the second time in recent weeks, Loyola Law School of Los
Angeles Byrne Trial Advocacy Team has brought home a coveted national
championship trophy. Loyola captured First Place at NITAs Tournament
of Champions, held early November at Howard Law School in Washington,
D.C. Just two weeks later, the team grabbed the national championship
title at Georgia State BarsWilliam Daniels Mock Trial Invitational
Tournament in Atlanta.
In both competitions, the team went undefeated in all rounds, and were
victorious over law schools with the most successful trial advocacy programs
in the nation, including Temple, Stetson, University of Texas, Chicago/Kent,
Notre Dame and Loyola of Chicago.
The students competing in the most recent tournament in Atlanta were
team members were Tara Gallogly (of Long Beach), Kate Gillespie (Los Angeles),
Todd Harrison (Westminster), Shawn McCann (Studio City), Alex Medina (Playa
del Rey), Amar Raval (Los Angeles) and Daniel Robinson (Santa Monica).
The students competing in Washington, D.C. competition were Andrew Higgs
(Pasadena), Alison Hazan (Los Angeles), Anika Harvey (Los Angeles) and
Brett Wolff (Hollywood). |
