Fritz B. Burns Foundation Pledges $5 Million Dollars To Loyola Law School

Los Angeles -- The Fritz B. Burns Foundation has approved a pledge of $5
million to Loyola Law School -- the largest, one-time commitment ever
received by the Law School from the Foundation. “The gift will create
the Fritz B. Burns Plaza, linking the new advocacy building to the
campus. Two million of the pledge is designated for completion of the
Albert H. Girardi Advocacy Center itself,” Dean David W. Burcham has
stated. Slated for completion in fall 2002, the structure will house a
90-person trial court classroom and jury room, a 65-person courtroom,
and a 36-person Ethical Lawyering Center classroom -- as well as offices,
video “studios” and audio/visual control rooms.

“The Foundation has pledged the remaining $3 million for endowment of
the Dean's Chair at the Law School,” Burcham added. “We are exceedingly
fortunate to have such loyal and generous benefactors.”
