Walaa is a faculty member at King Saud University, School of Law in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Walaa's dissertation will explore the following question: What regulatory changes are necessary to create a good environment for franchising in Saudi Arabia? Looking at evidence from the United States, it is safe to say that the laws in Saudi Arabia do not favor enabling the growth of franchising. One could infer that Saudi Arabia is missing out given the potential economic incentives created by franchising. By studying this topic Walaa hopes to give the relevant stakeholders somewhere to start redressing Saudi Arabian franchising laws.
