Job Description Summary:

Loyola Law School, Los Angeles seeks a talented, personable and service-oriented individual to serve as a career adviser for law students.  Primary responsibility is to conduct individual counseling appointments and provide guidance on the legal job search including resume preparation, and interviewing skills.  Additional responsibilities include: mock interviewing; planning/coordinating career-related information programs for students such as panels and workshops; producing/updating relevant handouts and assisting in on-campus interviewing programs

Education:

Bachelor’s degree is required.  Advanced degree in Counseling, Education (Student Services) or J.D. preferred.  A J.D. alone will not meet the requirements of this position (see Experience below).

Experience:

Experience in legal recruiting, career services or other relevant career counseling and placement experience is required.  Experience in student affairs or other higher education student services is desirable.

Knowledge/Ability:

Knowledge of recruiting and job placement in the legal job market is strongly preferred.  Proficiency in MS Office.  Highly developed customer service skills and orientation.  Must be able to work effectively and diplomatically with diverse populations of students, employers, alumni, administrators and others.  Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
