Cost of Attendance
Each year the Financial Aid Office determines the cost of attendance (COA) for the academic year*. This COA includes tuition and fees as well as an allowance for room and board, books and supplies, transportation and personal expenses. Financial aid, including the Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, cannot exceed the cost of attendance. Because COA includes allowances for living expenses, it is not indicative of what the student will owe the Student Accounts Office. A complete listting of all charges and fees for the current academic year can be found here.
A sample budget for a day student living away from parents is:
|Tuition and fees||$45,980|
Room and board
|Books and supplies||$1,370|
|Total cost of attendance||$74,476|
Typical financial aid award:
|Direct Unsubsidized loan||$20,500|
|Direct Grad PLUS||$53,976|
|Total financial aid offered||$74,476|
*Note: The academic year is the nine month period between mid-August through mid-May and does not include summer.
