Law Start II

Law Start II is a focused two-day program hosted by Loyola to prepare you for success in law school.  The program features simulated law school classes; skills training on note taking, case briefing, and case analysis; and practice applying the law to simulated “client” fact patterns like you will do on your law school exams.  A key component of Law Start II is the opportunity to participate in small breakout sessions with faculty members to discuss your work.  The program is designed to help you hit the ground running when you start law school and to provide direction and feedback by faculty to get you ready to succeed.  Law Start II builds on Law Start I, but Law Start I is not a prerequisite for Law Start II.

Day One: May 18, 9a - 1:45p Features an introduction to effective note-taking, a mock lecture, and a small group discussion on case briefing and analysis.

Day Two: May 19, 9a - 3p

Building on Day 1, students participate in interactive lectures and small group discussion.  The day ends with a reception with faculty and current LLS students.

"Law Start II was a priceless glimpse into the law school experience. The exposure to legal language and introduction to case briefing prepared me to immediately and effectively participate in interactive lectures when classes began."
