Israel (Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan)
In 2018, Loyola Law School will offer a summer program in Israel, at Bar Ilan University, in Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv. The program will have two sessions: June 3 - June 14 and June 17 - June 28.

Focus: International and Comparative Law
The courses offered in 2018 are:
- Comparative Intellectual Property Law (Dr. Miriam Marcowitz-Bitton (Bar Ilan));
- Dignity Jurisprudence in Israel I & II (Dr. Neil H. Cogan (Whittier));
- Jewish Law and Israeli Law (Dr. Haim Shapira (Bar Ilan University));
- Pluralism and Adjudication (Dr. Ori Aronson (Bar Ilan));
- Theory and Practice of Comparative Judicial Conflict Resolution (Dr. Michal Alberstein (Bar Ilan)).
Externships, running from July 1 to July 26, will be available. Students earn a maximum of 6 units (plus max 2 for externship). Student externs will perform 52 hours of work in the placement for each unit of course credit.
Tuition and Fees: Non-refundable enrollment fee of $300. Plus:
$3,000.00 for 2-week program (3 units); or
$4,800.00 for 4-week program (6 units); or
$5,600.00 for 4-week program, plus 1 unit externship (7-units total); or
$6,400.00 for 4-week program, plus 2 unit externship (8-units total)
Explore Israel and Nearby While You Study
The program offers the opportunity to explore both the modern and the ancient. The program is situated in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan, “The City That Never Sleeps,” widely ranked as one of the world’s most attractive tourist destinations. Tel Aviv offers beaches, clubs restaurants, and museums. A forty-five minute, inexpensive bus ride brings you to Jerusalem, the site of the Old City, The Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Via Dolorosa, and Garden of Gethsemane. Day trips take you to the King Herod’s fortress atop Masada, the lowest spot on the Earth’s surface at the Dead Sea, the fishermen by the Sea of Galilee, the cool waters of the Jordan River, the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the snorkeling beaches and nightlife of Eilat, and the lost city of Petra in Jordan. A two-day trip takes you to the tombs of the Pharaohs outside of Cairo or the coastal intrigues of Cyprus.
Non-Refundable Enrollment Fees:
$300 deposit on or before February 28, 2018.
Students secure their own housing. The program will provide students with resources to help find suitable accommodations.
