Rankings and Honors

Rankings

Three types of rank are computed at the conclusion of each Spring semester:

Cumulative Rank Click to view Cumulative Ranking cutoffs.

Cumulative rank is based upon the cumulative grade point average at the end of the Spring semester and is provided for all students by class year and division ( e.g ., first year day, first year evening, etc.).

Graduation Rank Click to view Graduation Ranking cutoffs.

Graduation rank is based upon the cumulative grade point average at graduation and is provided for all graduates of the preceding academic year (Spring graduates as well as those who graduated the previous Summer and Fall term). Day and evening divisions are ranked together.

Annual Rank Click to view Annual Ranking cutoffs.
(Starting in 2008-2009)

Annual rank, starting in the 2008-2009 academic year is determined by class year and division, and is based upon the annual grade point average for the Summer, Fall and Spring terms of a given academic year. To be eligible for an annual rank, a student must attend both the Fall and Spring semesters that year, and in each semester carry the minimum number of units required of his/her division. First year students do not receive an annual rank.

Percentile Ranking

All percentile rankings will be determined using grade point cut-offs for specific tiers in each group; these tiers are for the top five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five, forty and fifty percent of each class.

Students in the top five percent of each division (Day or Evening) are ranked numerically.

Rankings are available on official and unofficial transcripts ordered from the Office of the Registrar.

GPA Cutoff Grids

The Grade Point Average (GPA) Cutoff Grids for their respective academic year are available below with the exception of the 2004-2005 through the 2008-2009 academic years. Ranks for these years are only available on transcripts because of the change in the grade system, which affected all grades from the fall 2004 through spring 2010 semesters.
