While in law school, Linda Beres was a member of the Southern California Law Review and received the USC Law Alumni Award for attaining the highest cumulative grade point average in her class. After graduation, she served as law clerk to the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She then served as law clerk to the Honorable Warren J. Ferguson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to joining the Loyola faculty in 1989, she practiced with the law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson in Los Angeles. During the 1991-92 academic year, Beres was a Marden Fellow at New York University.
